Meanwhile I have written many things on this site.It is good to learn many things from the bible. Yet you will benefit more from this if you begin to apply biblical truth to your own life.
One way towards applying biblical teaching is to pray to God! Here is a word of prayer from a psalm in the Old Testament. I would like to invite you to make this your own prayer:
“Teach me knowledge and good judgment, for I believe in your commands.” (Psalm 119:66/NIV).
You may have come to appreciate standards of Christian living as laid out in 1 Corinthians chapter 13. This is good. Yet it is wise to also pray to God that He should help us apply these teachings to our own lives!
If we try to live out the Bible without relying on the Holy Spirit’s power–praying that God would enable us to follow His Word–we can easily fall into the trap of legalism (which tends to be a very unloving attitude).

In our efforts to doing good, we may tend to overlook many things. We may also end up in self-presentation. When we begin to feel we know it all, we may miss out on many things. Yes, it is desirable that we should learn to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit!
